It is used for the treatment of bacterial infections.
Active ingredients: 875 mg amoxicillin and 125 mg clavulanic acid.
Excipients: magnesium stearate, sodium croscarmellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxypropyl cellulose, propylene glycol, titanium dioxide, and ethylcellulose.
Treatment of bacterial infections.
For adults, the usual dose is one Apo-Amoxi Clav 500 mg + 125 mg tablet every 12 hours, or one 250 mg amoxicillin tablet every 8 hours.
For more severe infections or lower respiratory tract infections, the recommended dose is one Apo-Amoxi Clav 875 mg + 125 mg tablet every 12 hours, or one 500 mg + 125 mg tablet every 8 hours.
The duration of treatment is typically 7–10 days.
In children under 12 weeks of age, the usual daily dose of Apo-Amoxi Clav (calculated as amoxicillin) is:
For urinary tract infections, upper respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections of moderate severity: 25 mg/kg/day or 20 mg/kg/day divided into two doses every 12 hours or three doses every 8 hours.
For severe infections: 45 mg/kg/day or 40 mg/kg/day divided accordingly.
For lower respiratory tract infections: 45 mg/kg/day every 12 hours or 40 mg/kg/day every 8 hours.
For otitis media: 40 mg/kg/day divided into three doses every 8 hours.
The duration of treatment should be determined by the physician.
In children weighing more than 38 kg, dosing is the same as in adults.
Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal cramps, bloating, constipation, loss of appetite, colicky pain, rash, hepatitis and jaundice, anemia, vaginitis, headache, unpleasant taste in the mouth, dizziness, weakness, glossitis, black hairy tongue, stomatitis, discoloration of teeth in children.
Hypersensitivity to penicillins or beta-lactam cephalosporins, suspected or confirmed infectious mononucleosis, history of jaundice or liver disorder associated with previous Apo-Amoxi Clav use.
Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation.
Store tablets at room temperature, protected from light and moisture, out of reach of children.
