Skin and soft tissue infections: moderate acne vulgaris, migratory erythema (early stage of Lyme disease), erysipelas, impetigo, secondary pyoderma.
Sexually transmitted infections: uncomplicated urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis.
Diseases associated with Helicobacter pylori infection of the stomach and duodenum. Official recommendations for the appropriate use of antibacterial agents should be followed.
Oral use, once daily, regardless of food intake, with a glass of water.
If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible, then continue with the next dose after a 24-hour interval.
Adults, elderly patients, and children weighing more than 45 kg:
For migratory erythema: 1 g (2 tablets of 500 mg) on the first day, then 500 mg once daily for 2 to 5 days.
For uncomplicated acne vulgaris: total course dose 6 g. First 3 days: 1 tablet (500 mg) once daily, then 1 tablet (500 mg) once weekly for the next 9 weeks, with the second tablet taken 7 days after the previous dose.
For chronic migratory erythema: 1 g (2 tablets of 500 mg) on the first day, then 500 mg once daily for 2 to 5 days.
For sexually transmitted infections (uncomplicated urethritis/cervicitis): 1 g single dose.
For Helicobacter pylori-associated stomach and duodenal diseases: 1 g (2 tablets of 500 mg) daily in combination with antisecretory drugs and other treatments as prescribed by a physician.
Children:
500 mg azithromycin tablets are not intended for children weighing less than 45 kg.
Renal impairment:
No dose adjustment is required in patients with mild to moderate renal impairment (GFR 10-80 ml/min). Caution is advised in patients with severe renal impairment (GFR <10 ml/min).
Hepatic impairment:
Since azithromycin is metabolized in the liver and excreted via bile, it should not be prescribed to patients with severe hepatic impairment. Azithromycin treatment has not been studied in such patients.
Elderly patients:
The same dose as for adults is recommended. Caution is advised due to the potential risk of proarrhythmic conditions, including arrhythmias and torsades de pointes.
Store in a dry place protected from light and moisture at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
