One tablet contains:Active substance: 250 or 500 mg Ciprofloxacin (as chloride monohydrate).
Excipients:
Lactose, 0.014g (in 250mg tablet), 0.02g (in 500mg tablet).
Starch, 0.01g (in 250mg tablet), 0.024g (in 500mg tablet).
Polyvinylpyrrolidone 0.008g (in 250mg tablet), 0.02g (in 500mg tablet).
Magnesium stearate, 0.002g (in 250mg tablet), 0.004g (in 500mg tablet).
Ciprofloxacin is a highly effective antibacterial agent for infections caused by the above-mentioned microorganisms in:
Urogenital system infections.
Respiratory system infections.
Bone and joint system infections.
Ear, nose, and throat (ENT) infections.
Pelvic infections.
Abdominal infections.
Hepatobiliary organ infections.
Skin and soft tissue infections.
Postoperative period infections (abdominal, urogenital, orthopedic, dental surgeries).
As well as severe systemic infections, gonorrhea.
Ciprofloxacin is prescribed orally with a small amount of liquid. Patients over 16 years of age are prescribed 250–500 mg twice a day.
Nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pain, flatulence, loss of appetite. In case of diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis, which requires treatment with vancomycin, should be ruled out.
Dizziness, headache, fatigue, anxiety, tremor. Insomnia, peripheral paralgesia, and sweating are rare.
Change in taste, tinnitus, temporary hearing impairment.
Itching, rash, fever. Hemorrhage is rare. Stevens-Johnson and Lyell syndromes. Interstitial nephritis, hepatitis with liver failure are rare.
Tachycardia, fainting, hot flashes.
Joint swelling, pain, muscle pain, hypersensitivity to light, impaired kidney function.
Achilles tendinitis is rarely observed, requiring discontinuation of the drug.
Eosinophilia, leukocytopenia, granulocytopenia, anemia, thrombocytopenia.
Possible increase in transaminase activity, alkaline phosphatase activity, cholestatic jaundice, increased urea, creatinine, and bilirubin.
Ciprofloxacin should not be taken in cases of hypersensitivity to quinolones.
Contraindicated for children, adolescents, during pregnancy, and lactation. Experiments could not exclude the adverse effect of Ciprofloxacin on the cartilage tissue of the fetus and adolescent.
