Amlodipine Normon is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) and certain types of chest pain known as angina, including Prinzmetal’s or variant angina.
In hypertension, this medication works by widening blood vessels, which allows blood to flow more easily. In patients with angina, Amlodipine improves blood supply to the heart muscle, helping the heart receive more oxygen and thereby preventing chest pain. This medication is not intended for rapid relief of angina attacks.
