International Name: Amlodipine, Indapamide, Perindopril.
Clinical-Pharmacological Group: Antihypertensive agent; a combination of an ACE inhibitor, a diuretic, and a calcium channel blocker.
Triplixam is a combination of three active components that work in different ways to treat high blood pressure (hypertension):
Perindopril (ACE inhibitor): Widens the blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump blood through them.
Indapamide (Diuretic): Increases the amount of urine produced by the kidneys, although unlike other diuretics, it causes only a slight increase in urine volume.
Amlodipine (Calcium channel blocker): Relaxes blood vessels, allowing blood to move more easily through them.
Always take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. The tablet should be swallowed with a glass of water, preferably in the morning before a meal. The usual dose is one tablet per day.
Overdose:Taking too many tablets can cause a sharp drop in blood pressure, which may present with the following symptoms:
Nausea, vomiting, seizures.
Dizziness, drowsiness, confusion.
Oliguria (decreased urine production) or anuria (cessation of urine production).
In extreme cases — shock, cold and clammy skin, and loss of consciousness.
Missed Dose:It is important to take your medicine regularly every day for maximum effectiveness. If you forget a dose, take the next dose at the usual time. Do not take a double dose to compensate for a missed one.
Stopping Treatment:Since the treatment for hypertension is usually lifelong, consult your doctor before you stop taking this medication.
This medication is intended for patients who were already taking these three components separately and are now switching to this fixed-dose combination.
