Epiduo gel reduces inflammation, cleanses pores, and helps decrease acne.
Active substances: adapalene and benzoyl peroxide.
1 g of gel contains 1 mg (0.1%) adapalene and 25 mg (2.5%) benzoyl peroxide.
Excipients: sodium docusate, disodium edetate, glycerin, poloxamer, propylene glycol (E1520), Simulgel 600 PHA (copolymer of acrylamide and sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80, sorbitan oleate), purified water.
Epiduo is used for the treatment of acne.
The gel contains two active ingredients, adapalene and benzoyl peroxide, which act simultaneously through different mechanisms:
Adapalene belongs to the retinoid group and acts specifically on the causes of acne.
Benzoyl peroxide acts as an antimicrobial agent and softens and exfoliates the outer layer of the skin.
Not to be used in patients with hypersensitivity to the active substances or any other component of the gel.
Do not apply on cuts, abrasions, sunburn, or eczema.
Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, nostrils, and other sensitive areas; rinse immediately with plenty of warm water in case of accidental contact.
Avoid direct sunlight and UV lamps during treatment.
Do not apply on hair or colored fabrics as it may cause discoloration.
Wash hands thoroughly after application.
Consult a doctor or pharmacist before using Epiduo.
Do not use other acne products containing benzoyl peroxide or retinoids simultaneously.
Avoid cosmetics that irritate, dry, or peel the skin while using Epiduo.
Epiduo is not recommended during pregnancy.
If pregnancy occurs during treatment, discontinue and consult your doctor.
Epiduo can be used during breastfeeding, but avoid applying on the breasts to prevent contact with the infant.
Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
