Etoricoxib
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).
Film-coated tablets:
60 mg – Green color.
90 mg – White color.
120 mg – Light green color.
Etoricoxib is a selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). At therapeutic concentrations, it blocks the formation of prostaglandins and is characterized by anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antipyretic action.
The selective inhibition of COX-2 by Etoricoxib is accompanied by a reduction in pronounced clinical symptoms related to inflammatory processes, without affecting platelets and the gastrointestinal tract mucosa.
Etoricoxib has a dose-dependent effect on COX-2 inhibition, without affecting COX-1 when used at doses up to $150 \text{ mg}$ per day. The preparation does not affect the production of prostaglandins in the gastric mucosa and bleeding time. Conducted studies did not show a reduction in arachidonic acid levels or collagen-induced platelet aggregation.
Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation.
Complete or incomplete combination with bronchial asthma, recurrent nasal polyposis.
Intolerance to acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (including in history).
