Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with analgesic properties.

Composition and Form of Release:

Tablets:

Each tablet contains 10 mg of ketorolac tromethamine (pack of 20).

Solution for i/m or i/v injection:

Each ampoule (1 ml) contains 30 mg of ketorolac tromethamine (pack of 5).

Indications:

Short-term relief of moderate to severe pain requiring analgesia comparable to that achieved with opioids.
Toradol is not indicated for the treatment of chronic pain syndromes.

Dosage and Administration:

  • In adults, the total duration of multiple i/m or i/v Toradol injections should not exceed 5 days, as prolonged use increases the risk of side effects.

  • The duration of i/v infusion in adults should not exceed 24 hours.

  • In children, the total duration of parenteral use should not exceed 2 days.

  • Oral administration in adults should be for no longer than 7 days.

Solution for Injection:

  • Designed for single or multiple intramuscular or intravenous administration in adults.

  • In children, may be given as a single intramuscular dose, with additional i/v injections if necessary (preferably i/v due to injection pain).

Recommended Dosage:

  • Adults (under 65 years):

    • i/m: 10–60 mg single dose depending on pain intensity.

    • i/v: 10–30 mg single dose.

  • Adults over 65 years or with renal impairment:

    • i/m: 10–30 mg single dose.

    • i/v: 10–15 mg single dose.

Tablets:

  • For adults: 10 mg once or every 4–6 hours as needed.

  • Maximum daily dose: 40 mg.

  • Tablets are not recommended for children due to insufficient clinical data.

Administration Notes:

  • The lowest effective dose should always be used.

  • The drug may be combined with low-dose opioids if required.

  • IV administration should last at least 15 seconds.

  • IM injection should be deep and slow.

  • Analgesic effect begins in ~30 minutes, peaks in 1–2 hours, and lasts 4–6 hours.

  • Before use, hypovolemia should be corrected; only use in patients with normal hydration and electrolyte balance.

Precautions:

  • Hypersensitivity reactions (including bronchospasm or anaphylaxis) may occur; appropriate emergency measures must be available.

  • Use in children under 2 years is not recommended due to limited experience.
