Used in cases of constipation and to facilitate defecation. Like other laxatives, Gutalax oral drops should not be used regularly every day or for a prolonged period without diagnostic evaluation.
Composition: 1 ml (=15 drops) contains the active substance sodium picosulfate 7.5 mg.
Excipients: sodium benzoate (E 211), liquid sorbitol (non-crystallizable) (E 420), sodium citrate dihydrate (E 331), citric acid monohydrate (E 330), purified water.

If not otherwise prescribed, the adult dose is 10–18 drops (corresponding to 5–10 mg sodium picosulfate).
In children aged 4 years and older, who should take this medicinal product only by a doctor’s prescription, the dose is 5–9 drops (corresponding to 2.5–5 mg sodium picosulfate).
It is recommended to start treatment with the lowest dose. For regular defecation, the dose should be adjusted up to the maximum recommended dose. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose, which is 18 drops for adults and 9 drops for children aged 4 years and older.
Gutalax oral drops should not be taken regularly every day or for a long period without determining the cause of constipation.
How to use:
Gutalax oral drops are best taken in the evening, with or without liquid. After taking medication, the effect usually begins within approximately 6–12 hours.
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to the active substance, other triarylmethanes, or any excipient.
Intestinal stenosis or intestinal obstruction.
Severe abdominal pain, which may be accompanied by fever, nausea, and vomiting (e.g., appendicitis).
Acute inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Severe dehydration.
In cases of hereditary intolerance to any of the excipients.
- Gutalax is not prescribed for children under 4 years of age. In older children, Gutalax may be used only after consulting a doctor.
- In diseases caused by disturbances in water-electrolyte balance (e.g., severe renal insufficiency), the medicinal product may be used only under medical supervision.
Storage conditions: Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C, in a place inaccessible to children.
Shelf life: 3 years.
Shelf life after first opening the bottle: 12 months.
The product should not be used after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
