Azimak Powder for Oral Suspension 200 mg/5 ml, 30 ml

Composition:

Each 5 ml of the prepared suspension contains 209.6 mg azithromycin dihydrate, equivalent to 200 mg azithromycin.

Excipients: sucrose, sodium phosphate, sodium benzoate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, xanthan gum, cherry flavor, banana flavor.

Indications:

Infections of the chest organs, throat, or nose, such as: bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat (pharyngitis), and sinusitis;
Pharyngitis/tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes in patients with increased sensitivity to penicillin;
Acute ear infections (acute otitis media);
Skin and soft tissue infections (abscess, furuncle);
Sexually transmitted infections caused by Chlamydia;
Soft tissue ulcers caused by Haemophilus ducreyi and uncomplicated genital infections caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae (infection caused by Treponema pallidum must be excluded).

Dosage and Administration:

Azimak suspension is mainly prescribed for children weighing less than 45 kg.
It is also used in adults and older children who have difficulty swallowing capsules.
Azimak is taken once daily.

For sexually transmitted infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, Haemophilus ducreyi, or sensitive Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the dose is 1000 mg as a single oral dose.

For treatment of pharyngitis/tonsillitis caused by S. pyogenes, Azimak is prescribed for 5 days: 500 mg on the first day and 250 mg daily from day 2 to day 5.

For all other cases, the total dose is 1500 mg (500 mg daily for 3 days).

Children weighing more than 45 kg receive the adult dose.

For children weighing less than 45 kg, the daily dose is 10 mg/kg for 3 days.

For streptococcal pharyngitis in children, the total dose is 30 mg/kg (10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days) or 10 mg/kg on day 1 followed by 5 mg/kg from day 2 to day 5 (5-day course).

For acute ear infections (acute otitis media), a single dose of 30 mg/kg may be prescribed.

For pediatric streptococcal infections, doses of 10 mg/kg or 20 mg/kg for 3 days are indicated, but not exceeding 500 mg per day.

In rare cases, the doctor may prescribe a different dosing regimen.

Storage:

Keep out of reach of children.
Store at temperatures not exceeding 25°C.
The prepared suspension should be used within 5 days after preparation.
