Azithromycin Bene is used for upper and lower respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, and acute sexually transmitted infections.
Each capsule contains:
Active ingredient: Azithromycin (as dihydrate) – 500 mg.
Excipients: Pregelatinized corn starch, sodium lauryl sulfate, magnesium stearate, lactose.
Upper respiratory tract infections (bacterial pharyngitis/tonsillitis, sinusitis, otitis);
Lower respiratory tract infections (bacterial bronchitis, interstitial and alveolar pneumonia, acute chronic bronchitis);
Skin and soft tissue infections (chronic migratory erythema – early stage of Lyme disease, erysipelas, impetigo, secondary pyodermas);
Sexually transmitted acute infections (urethritis, cervicitis);
Gastric and duodenal diseases associated with H. pylori.
Hypersensitivity to macrolide antibiotics;
Severe liver and kidney dysfunction.
Rare (1% or less).
Digestive system: melena, cholestatic jaundice, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, decreased appetite, gastritis.
Allergic reactions: rash, photosensitivity, angioedema.
Genitourinary system: vaginal candidiasis, nephritis.
Cardiovascular system: chest pain.
Nervous system: dizziness, headache, drowsiness; in children (for otitis treatment) – headache, hyperkinesia, neurosis, sleep disturbances.
Others: possible moderate increase in liver transaminase activity, fatigue, rash, conjunctivitis.
Very rarely neutropenia and eosinophilia. Abnormal lab results return to normal within 2-3 weeks after treatment ends.

Use cautiously during pregnancy and lactation, especially if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk;
In liver and kidney function impairment;
In patients with arrhythmia and prolonged QT interval.
Azithromycin Bene Pharm is taken once daily either 1 hour before or 2 hours after meals.
For children from 6 months, suspension form is recommended.
For upper and lower respiratory tract, skin and soft tissue infections (except chronic migratory erythema):
Adults: 500 mg once daily for 3 days.
Children: 10 mg/kg once daily for 3 days.
For Helicobacter pylori-associated gastric and duodenal diseases:
1 g (500 mg x 2 capsules) once daily for 3 days.
For uncomplicated sexually transmitted infections (urethritis, cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis):
1 gram daily for 3 days, repeated on days 1, 7, and 14 (total course 3 g).
Store in a dry place, out of reach of children, at 15–25°C.
Suspension powder stored in refrigerator.
Prepared suspension stored for 5 days.
