Erythromycin 200 helps treat sore throat and bacterial infections and is effective for respiratory tract infections.
Erythromycin – 250 mg Film-Coated Tablets
Each film-coated tablet contains:
Erythromycin stearate USP equivalent to 250 mg erythromycin
Macrolide antibiotic
Upper respiratory tract infections
Lower respiratory tract infections
Skin and soft tissue infections
Bone infections
Sexually transmitted infections
Gastrointestinal infections
Prophylaxis
Hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation
Use is not recommended in patients with impaired liver function or those currently taking potentially hepatotoxic drugs
For mild to moderate infections:
Adults and children over 8 years: 1 g per day, divided doses
For severe infections, the dose may be doubled
Newborns: No special precautions required apart from dose adjustment if liver function is normal
Children: Apart from dose adjustment, no additional precautions required
Pregnancy: Erythromycin crosses the placental barrier
Lactation: Erythromycin reaches higher concentrations in breast milk than in maternal plasma
Use only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs potential risk to the fetus or infant
Cholestatic jaundice (usually occurs 10–14 days after treatment start; reversible upon discontinuation)
Rarely: generalized itching, Stevens–Johnson syndrome
Reversible hearing loss, severe nausea, vomiting, diarrhea

Theophylline, carbamazepine, digoxin, warfarin, ergotamine
Store at ≤30 °C, protected from light and moisture, out of reach of children
