Rosuvastatin
Rosuvastatin is used to reduce elevated levels of total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, B-apolipoprotein, and triglycerides when other methods do not achieve the desired results.
Indications:
Hypercholesterolemia
Combined (mixed) hypercholesterolemia
Homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia
Cardiovascular disease prevention
1 tablet once daily
Maximum daily dose: 40 mg (intended only for high-risk patients)
Regular monitoring of cholesterol levels is recommended
Take the next dose at the usual time
Do not take a double dose to compensate
Consult a doctor before discontinuing rosuvastatin
Usually mild and transient side effects
Stop taking immediately if any of the following occur:
Difficulty breathing
Swelling of face, tongue, lips, or throat
Severe skin itching
Other side effects: headache, abdominal pain, constipation, nausea, muscle pain, dizziness
Hypersensitivity to rosuvastatin or any component of the medicine
Pregnancy and lactation
Acute liver or kidney failure
Recurrent or unusual muscle pain
Age over 70 years
Acute respiratory insufficiency
Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking
Particular caution with: cyclosporine, warfarin, fibrates, other cholesterol-lowering drugs, erythromycin, oral contraceptives, lopinavir, ritonavir, hormone replacement therapy
Not to be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding
Use oral contraceptives to prevent pregnancy while taking rosuvastatin
Seek immediate medical attention at a doctor or hospital
Store at temperatures up to 25°C, in a dry place, out of reach of children
