Tenzipril HD is used to treat high blood pressure. Both active ingredients complement each other in lowering blood pressure and are used together when treatment with only one active substance does not provide the desired effect.
The active ingredients are ramipril and hydrochlorothiazide.
Each tablet contains 5 mg of ramipril and 12.5 mg of hydrochlorothiazide.
Other ingredients include: calcium sulfate dihydrate, sodium bicarbonate, sodium stearyl fumarate (Ph.Eur.), pregelatinized starch (from corn), ferric oxide hydroxide x H₂O, iron (II,III) oxide, and ferric oxide.
Ramipril belongs to a group of medicines called ACE inhibitors (ACE = Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme).
It works by:
Reducing the production of substances in the body that increase blood pressure,
Relaxing and widening blood vessels,
Making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body.
Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic (commonly known as a “thiazide diuretic”).
It works by increasing the excretion of fluid (urine), which helps to lower blood pressure.
Tenzipril HD is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension).
Both active ingredients complement each other in lowering blood pressure and are used together when treatment with one of the substances alone does not provide sufficient control.
