It is used in cases of rheumatoid disorders, respiratory system disorders, gastrointestinal, and kidney disorders.

Adelcort 5 mg tablets are used for the treatment or prevention of relapses in the following conditions:
Rheumatic disorders, including collagen diseases such as acute and chronic rheumatoid polyarthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, etc.
Respiratory disorders, such as bronchial asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, toxic pulmonary edema, etc.
Gastrointestinal disorders, such as ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, etc.
Kidney disorders, such as nephrotic syndrome, glomerulonephritis, etc.
Hematological and malignant systemic disorders, such as autoimmune hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenic purpura, malignant tumors (with or without chemotherapy), etc.
Neurological disorders, such as cerebral edema, neuritis, polyneuropathy, etc.
Skin disorders, such as severe drug-induced rashes, Lyell’s syndrome, urticaria, angioedema, skin redness, pemphigus, etc.
Additionally, Adelcort 5 mg tablets are used as replacement therapy in the following conditions:
Primary adrenal insufficiency (Addison’s disease)
Secondary adrenal insufficiency, e.g. Sheehan's syndrome
Adrenogenital syndrome

Adelcort 5 mg tablets should be taken orally with water, swallowed whole without chewing.
Your doctor will determine the dose based on the type and severity of your condition.
Unless otherwise prescribed, the usual dosage is:
Adults: 25–50 mg per day
Children: 1–5 mg per kg of body weight per day
After remission of acute symptoms, gradual dose reduction is recommended.
The usual maintenance dose is:
Adults: 5–12.5 mg per day
Children: 0.25–0.5 mg per kg of body weight per day
For long-term treatment, it is recommended that:
In adults, the maintenance dose does not exceed 7.5 mg per day
In children, the dose should not exceed what is prescribed by the physician
Treatment regimens may include:
A single daily dose taken in the morning
A double dose taken every other morning
Intermittent therapy (e.g. 4 days on, 3 days off)
