Active ingredient: Each 1 gram contains 10 mg naftifine hydrochloride.
Excipients: Benzyl alcohol 0.010 g, cetyl alcohol 0.040 g, stearyl alcohol 0.040 g per 1 gram.
Used for the treatment of the following conditions:
Cutaneous and skin fold mycotic infections (tinea corporis, tinea inguinalis)
Fingernail and toenail fungal infections (tinea manus, tinea pedis)
Nail fungal infections (onychomycosis)
Cutaneous candidiasis
Pityriasis versicolor
Inflammatory dermatomycosis (with or without itching).
Skin infections:
Apply Exoderil thinly to the affected skin area, preferably in the evening before bedtime, and gently rub in. Each application should cover the entire affected area plus 2 cm of surrounding healthy skin. For fungal infections in skin folds, placing a thin gauze between the folds after application overnight is beneficial.
Nail infections:
Trim infected nails as close to the base as possible. Apply Exoderil once daily and rub into the nail. Covering the affected nail is recommended. Treatment must be continued long enough to prevent relapse; use should continue for at least two weeks after symptoms disappear.
General treatment duration:
Dermatophyte infections: 2-4 weeks
Severe cases: 4-8 weeks
Superficial candidiasis: 4 weeks
Nail mycoses: up to 6 months
Pityriasis versicolor: treatment may take 2 weeks.
For topical use only. Before application, wash the affected skin or nail with warm water and dry thoroughly. If no clinical improvement is observed after 4 weeks of treatment, the patient should be re-examined.
No clinical data are available on the use of naftifine during pregnancy. Animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects on pregnancy, embryonic/fetal development, childbirth, or postnatal development. Caution is advised when using this preparation during pregnancy.
It is unknown whether naftifine is excreted in human milk. Excretion in animal milk has not been studied. When deciding on treatment with Exoderil during breastfeeding, the benefits of breastfeeding for the infant and the benefits of treatment for the mother should be carefully weighed.
