Allopurinol Normon 300 mg is used for the prevention of gout and other conditions caused by excessive levels of uric acid in the body.
The active substance is allopurinol. Each tablet contains 300 mg of allopurinol.
Other excipients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone, and magnesium stearate.

The tablet should be swallowed whole with water.
It is usually taken once daily, typically after meals.
Treatment is generally started with a low dose of allopurinol (e.g., 100 mg/day) to minimize the risk of side effects. The dose may be increased if necessary.
Adults:
The usual starting dose is 100–300 mg per day.
The dose may be increased individually up to 900 mg per day.
If gastrointestinal discomfort occurs, the daily dose may be divided into multiple smaller doses and taken with meals.
Children under 15 years of age:
The recommended dose is 100–400 mg per day.
Elderly patients:
The doctor will prescribe the lowest effective dose to reduce uric acid levels and control symptoms.
Patients with liver or kidney impairment:
If you have kidney or liver problems, your doctor will prescribe the lowest effective dose to reduce uric acid levels and control symptoms.
In cases of renal failure, a dose below 100 mg per day or 100 mg at longer intervals is recommended.
For patients undergoing dialysis 2–3 times per week, the doctor may prescribe 300 or 400 mg, to be taken immediately after dialysis.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication.
Allopurinol is not recommended during pregnancy.
Since allopurinol passes into breast milk, it is not recommended during breastfeeding.
This medicine may affect your ability to drive or operate machinery due to side effects such as drowsiness, dizziness, or coordination problems.
Do not drive or use machines unless you are certain that the medication does not impair your abilities.
This medication contains lactose.
Consult your doctor before taking it if you have been told you have an intolerance to certain sugars.
Keep out of reach of children.
No special storage conditions are required.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the last day of the indicated month.
