Septonate – antiseptic oral solution used to relieve inflammation and pain in the mouth and throat, and to prevent microbial infections.
• Septonate is a medicinal product for oral cavity treatment.
• Septonate is a transparent, colorless solution. It is presented in a 200 mg amber PE bottle, packaged in a cardboard box with a measuring cup (5, 10, 15, 20 ml). Each box contains one bottle.
• Septonate contains chlorhexidine gluconate, which is an antimicrobial substance (kills or stops the spread of microbes), and benzydamine hydrochloride, which belongs to the group of anti-inflammatory drugs and is used to relieve pain and inflammation. It has a local anesthetic effect (numbs the application area) after use.
• Septonate is used for the treatment of gingivitis, inflammation and pain of the throat mucosa, inflammation of the oral surface and pharynx, as well as inflammation of the tonsils and wounds in the oral cavity.
• Septonate is used to prevent microbial diseases in the mouth and throat, to ease swallowing function, and relieve symptoms of gum inflammation.
• Septonate is used before and after dental procedures.
• Septonate is used for inflammation of the oral mucosa caused by radiation therapy, cancer medications, or other causes.
• Septonate is used to prevent bacterial plaque (dental plaque) and irritation.
The adult dosage of Septonate is 15 ml, to be used every 1.5–3 hours during the day.
Septonate is used as a mouth rinse. Use undiluted. Hold in the mouth for at least 30 seconds, then spit out.
The chlorhexidine content in Septonate reduces plaque and treats gingivitis. If Septonate is used as an alternative to other oral hygiene procedures, rinse the mouth for at least 1 minute. To reduce the risk of tooth staining caused by chlorhexidine, it is recommended to brush your teeth.
Children (12 years and older):
Rinse every 1.5–3 hours with 5–15 ml for 30 seconds.
Continuous use is not recommended for more than 7 days.
In case of burning or irritation, the solution should be diluted with water.
Due to lack of experience, Septonate is not recommended for children under 12 years of age.
As with other medications, side effects may occur in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of Septonate.
If any side effects occur, discontinue use of Septonate and immediately inform your doctor or contact the nearest hospital emergency department:
• Sudden difficulty breathing, skin burning, swelling of the face or tongue (anaphylaxis)
• Hypersensitivity reactions
• Allergic reactions
The above-mentioned side effects are serious. If you experience any of them, you may have a serious allergy to Septonate. Seek medical help immediately. These reactions are rare.
